Rapid context and impact

A national project to sustainably transform access to drinking water and irrigation in the most vulnerable areas of the Union of the Comoros.

  • 450,000 direct beneficiaries

  • 60 million USD mobilised

  • 27 municipalities concerned

  • 39 accompanied villages

  • Objective: to increase from 15% to 60% access to drinking water by 2027

🟩 Project funded by the Green Climate Fund, implemented with the UNDP and the Comorian Government.

What we do

The ER2C project acts on several fronts:

  • Construction of resilient reservoirs, holes, basins and water networks.

  • Establishment of weather stations and climate warning systems.

  • Support for farmers to cope with drought.

  • Training, awareness, new laws for sustainable water governance.

Support for irrigated agriculture to strengthen food security in vulnerable areas of the Comoros.
